Media: Zaluzhny found a wiretap

Listening devices were found in the office of the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian troops, Valery Zaluzhny. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the country’s Security Service (SBU) and Ukrainian media.

A criminal case has been opened. The SBU clarified that the devices were not found in the commander-in-chief’s office itself, but “in one of the rooms that could be used for work in the future.” It was not in working condition and will be sent for examination. At the same time, no means of storing information or means of remote transmission of audio recordings were found, the service added.

The media write that the discovered devices were made from elements of an unidentified sample. There is no way to determine who installed them, the media adds.

Earlier it was reported that there was allegedly a confrontation between Zelensky and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. The latter is more popular among the Ukrainian population and may pose a threat to Zelensky, The Washington Post noted. The reason was, among other things, Zaluzhny’s statement about the deadlock at the front and the impossibility of a “deep and beautiful breakthrough” of Ukrainian troops. The media wrote that Zaluzhny is popular among fellow citizens and could pose a threat to Zelensky if he decides to start a political career. However, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of Zelensky’s office, emphasized that there is no conflict between Zelensky and Zaluzhny.

At the same time, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service previously stated that the West is already looking for a replacement for Zelensky. A list of successors was also named, which included Zaluzhny himself, as well as Kirill Budanov, Andrey Ermak, and Vitaliy Klitschko.
