Vladimir Putin visited the exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNKh. Among the regional stands, the President paid attention to the exposition of his home city – St. Petersburg.
The head of state was shown the highlight of the stand: an immersive space that allows you to admire the panoramas of St. Petersburg from the Gulf of Finland, enjoy a walk through city parks or skating on the ice of the frozen Neva, feel the atmosphere of the grandiose holiday of graduates “Scarlet Sails”, and also briefly spoke about the achievements of the Northern capital and its grandiose plans with which the St. Petersburg stand introduces visitors.
Let us remind you that the St. Petersburg exposition is one of the most popular at the exhibition; it has already been visited by more than 200 thousand people. It consists of 90% multimedia and interactive solutions that immerse you in the atmosphere of the Northern capital, allow you to discover its unique architectural appearance, and feel the very spirit of this amazing city, whose history is inextricably linked with the formation of Russia.
“Our president knows these routes of his home city well, but recently we have carried out restoration work on houses and embankments, and now guests and residents of the city can admire the imperial historical St. Petersburg in all its glory,” said Governor Alexander Beglov.
As Alexander Beglov especially emphasized, the city does not stop at the achievements of the present, but looks to the future and continues to develop. The stand presents projects designed to improve the quality of life of citizens, improve the urban environment, infrastructure and help improve the level of economy and attractiveness of the region in many sectors. Guests of the exhibition-forum have the opportunity to learn about the achievements of St. Petersburg in various fields: science, industry, tourism, construction, education, healthcare, energy, digital technologies.
Let us remind you that the basis of the exhibition in the Northern capital is the concept of the “St. Petersburg Cinema”. One part of the stand is permanent, the other changes depending on the thematic season – there are 16 of them in total. The permanent part is dedicated to the main achievements of the city and plans for the future. Among them are the Museum of the Defense and Siege of Leningrad, Gazprom Arena, the tallest skyscraper in Europe Lakhta Center, the Unified Card of St. Petersburg residents, the Western High-Speed Diameter, the satellite city of Yuzhny at the new campus of ITMO University, the seaside resort in Gorskaya, the high-speed railway terminal St. St. Petersburg – Moscow and other unique projects.
