Warming will come to Russian regions next week. Thermometers will rise to zero degrees, said the head of the METEO forecast center, Alexander Shuvalov, writes NEWS.ru.
He noted that from December 18, warm air flows from the Atlantic will enter the European territory of the country. Due to changes in atmospheric processes, the air temperature will constantly fluctuate from minimal sub-zero temperatures to 1–2 degrees Celsius.
In some regions, especially in European territory, indicators will exceed the climate norm by 2–5 degrees. For example, in Pskov it will be up to +4. Shuvalov also warned that due to the onset of a warm front, wet snow will be replaced by rain – sleet and precipitation are expected.
The Leningrad, Pskov and Novgorod regions will be the first to welcome warm air from the Atlantic. Warming will also come to Moscow and St. Petersburg. At the same time, strong winds are possible in the Northern capital, gusts of which will reach 10 meters per second.
However, so far there is nothing to please the residents of Siberia. Severe frosts will continue in the Irkutsk region and Buryatia, Shuvalov noted. In Krasnoyarsk at the beginning of the week it will be -35 degrees for several days. And in the north of the Kuril Islands and Kamchatka on Monday, strong winds will blow – up to 30 m/s, and up to 30-40 cm of snow will fall.
