Political consultant: The President showed that Russia is not only holding on, but also developing

The main conclusion that can be drawn from Vladimir Putin’s speech during the direct line, combined with a large press conference, is that Russia is not just holding on in the current difficult situation, but is also developing, says political consultant Alena August.

“The meeting lasted 4 hours and 4 minutes, a huge number of questions were asked. But if your question has not been voiced, this means that it will definitely be sorted out by specialists on an individual basis. There were questions both fundamental (where the country is going) and momentary (screw in a light bulb in the entrance) – the president responded equally attentively to any. In everything – even in the most specific issues – global approaches were visible,” August noted in a commentary to the RosBalt news agency.

“People saw that the country was strengthening its sovereignty, despite all attempts from abroad to prevent us from doing this. The state continues to fulfill all its obligations, including social ones, despite the increase in defense spending during the SVO,” the political consultant is convinced.

According to Alena August, “it was important for Russians to hear about the economy, that we are moving forward.” “Unemployment is less than three percent – this is the news that foreign media should convey to their readers, who trumpet how difficult it is to live in Russia. But in the world these figures are completely different. Unemployment figures are radically higher. And we are developing new industries, all blockade attempts do not work – enterprising people seize their chance and launch new projects,” August noted.

According to her, it was also interesting to see how new regions would behave during the direct line. “Although they are no longer new, last September they held elections under Russian law. And it is clear that the regions have completely integrated into the Russian context – economically, politically, and socially. The regions are part of a big family,” the expert emphasized.

“The president talked a lot about patriotism. But not about a beautiful word, but about effective patriotism. About how people work not in words, but in deeds to strengthen the country. We once worried that many war heroes – our grandparents – are not eternal, who will convey the truth about life? Now we have heroes of the Northern Military District,” said Alena August.

In addition, a lot of attention at the press conference was paid to interethnic relations and family context projects. “‘Russia is a country of opportunities’ is not only about social elevators, but also about horizontal and very warm communications,” noted the political consultant.
