Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov admits a compromise with the Russian Federation, but “not at the expense of Ukraine’s interests.”
As UNIAN reports, he stressed that Kiev cannot give up its territory and “those things that are fixed in the Constitution” about European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
“Can we make some compromises? Yes we can! But these compromises must be accepted by our people. We cannot uncompromisingly decide something and make concessions on what the Russian Federation is proposing today. Has the situation changed after the conversation between Vladimir Zelensky and Joe Biden? No, she hasn’t changed! It has remained in the same direction, in the same vein and has remained at the same stage, ”Danilov said.
In his opinion, Russia is raising the bar in its demands so that everyone can start communicating with it.
“A compromise is possible, but it is important to understand that any compromise has a limit that we cannot cross with you,” Danilov emphasized.
