Due to a fire on a gas pipeline in the village of Belomechetskaya, Stavropol Territory, a column of flame 25 meters high rose into the sky, reports RIA Novosti citing a source in emergency services.
The source clarified that it was burning in the Kochubeevsky district, about 3 km from the settlement of Ust-Nevinsky. The breakthrough occurred at the “Branch to Cherkessk” gas pipeline. There are no casualties, and there is no threat to settlements. The damaged section of the pipeline is closed off. The gas burns out. Due to the emergency, gas supply to 18 settlements of the Kochubeevsky region was disrupted.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, no one was injured, mobile units were sent to the settlements left without gas to recharge residential buildings. As a result of the explosion, the transit of gas to the territory of Kazakhstan was interrupted – for the duration of fuel burnout in the damaged area.
