The COP28 environmental forum ended in Dubai

A two-week forum dedicated to climate change issues, COP28, has come to an end in Dubai. The event brought together world leaders and experts to discuss ways to combat the global climate crisis. The forum brought together delegations from 150 countries, and the capacity of the EXPO 2020 exhibition site was 45 thousand square meters and 200 stands, writes FederalPress.

The forum was attended by politicians from various countries, including the heads of France, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Belarus, the prime ministers of India and Great Britain, as well as the vice president of the United States.

The main issues that were resolved at the conference were setting a new global goal on climate change, helping developing countries compensate for climate losses and assessing the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

According to the Paris Agreement, the world must achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. However, countries intend to increase oil, gas and coal production in the coming decades, which does not meet climate commitments. This issue was also raised at the conference.

The Russian delegation at the forum was led by the President’s Special Representative on Climate Issues, Ruslan Edelgeriev. The Russian pavilion was presented at the exhibition, which indicates that Russia is actively involved in solving climate problems and is ready to cooperate with other countries on this path.
