Bus carriers are resuming flights to Finland. According to Interfax, Ecolines will begin transporting passengers from December 14.
The first bus will depart from St. Petersburg to Helsinki at 6:45, the return flight is scheduled for 14:30. From December 15, two flights in each direction will be operated daily.

The day before it was reported that from December 14, Finland will open checkpoints on the border with Russia. The closest one to St. Petersburg is the Vaalimaa checkpoint. The process will be gradual, said the head of the Finnish Foreign Ministry, Elina Valtonen. She clarified that the opening would be possible if the situation with migrants normalizes.
Earlier, Finnish authorities said that Russian border guards were delivering migrants to the Finnish border to provoke a crisis. As a result, from November 18, Finland closed four checkpoints until February 18, 2024. On November 28, it became known that all checkpoints on the border with Russia would be closed until December 13, allegedly due to the situation with migrants. It was noted that Finland is concerned about the uncontrolled arrival of citizens of third countries – Syria, India, Morocco and others.
