Nominees for the Golden Globes have been announced in Los Angeles. They were announced live on the award’s YouTube channel. The 81st Globes ceremony will take place on January 7 and will be broadcast on CBS.

The series “Bear” received five nominations, the film “The Poor and Unfortunate” received six. Moreover, in one of them two actors of the project will compete at once: Mark Ruffalo and William Dafoe. Among series, Fargo received three nominations; “Heirs” – nine; the film “Oppenheimer” – eight; series “The Crown” – four.

This year there are two new categories – “Best Stand-Up Comedian on Television” and “Cinematic Achievement and Box Office.” In the latter, the box office record holders of the outgoing year will compete: the films “Barbie”, “Guardians of the Galaxy 3”, “John Wick 4”, “Mission: Impossible: Deadly Reckoning”, “Oppenheimer”, the animated films “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and “Brothers” SuperMario at the Movies,” as well as the concert film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.” This is Taylor Swift’s fifth Golden Globe nomination, but her first in a non-song category. Previously (namely in 2013, 2014, 2020 and 2023), the singer was nominated in the “Best Song” category. And she never won.

This year, three compositions from the movie “Barbie” were nominated for “Best Song”: “What Was I Made For?” Billie Eilish, “Dance the Night” by Dua Lipa and “I’m Just Ken” performed by Ryan Gosling.

Meryl Streep is nominated this time for the award “Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series.” Thus, she became a record holder in the history of the Golden Globe. In total, she currently has 33 nominations and 9 awards.
