The pilots who landed the plane in a field near Novosibirsk were asked to resign

Relatives of the pilots, who landed the plane on a wheat field near Novosibirsk on September 12, 2023, told the media that the pilots were offered to write statements of their own free will. Izvestia reports this.

It is noted that the management of Ural Airlines did not disclose the reasons for their desire to part with the aircraft commander Sergei Belov and co-pilot Eduard Semenov. According to relatives, the pilots refused to resign. However, the publication does not have any comments from the airline on these facts.

Earlier it became known that the Federal Air Transport Agency was dissatisfied with the results of the investigation into the emergency landing of the vessel. The federal agency submitted 15 comments to the document. Among them, according to the publication, were indications of errors in calculations, references to data that were not confirmed by records of crew conversations, lack of confirmation of the existence of calculations referred to by the ship’s crew, as well as unreliable information provided by the PIC regarding the indication of the retracted position of the landing gear . The Federal Air Transport Agency also expressed dissatisfaction with the level of training of the pilots, who allowed “reckless actions” in conditions of abnormal operation of the aircraft.

As a result, the leadership of the Federal Air Transport Agency demanded that the West Siberian Interregional Territorial Directorate of the agency eliminate the violations and finalize the report, as well as include new members in the commission. At the same time, the Federal Air Transport Agency and Ural Airlines did not comment on the situation in the media.

Let us remind you that the emergency landing of the Ural Airlines flight, traveling from Sochi to Omsk, occurred on September 12. The pilots cited a lack of fuel as the reason. None of the 161 passengers and six crew members were injured.
