“In case of shelling by Russian troops”: Kiev authorities are checking bomb shelters

The authorities of the Ukrainian capital have planned “outreach to the population”, as well as exercises with the police, metro workers and the use of sound sirens. According to Andrey Krishchenko, deputy head of the Kiev administration for municipal security, trainings are held “in case of shelling by Russian troops.”

Krishchenko said that from next week, Kiev residents will be informed so that they are not afraid when they hear the siren. After a couple of weeks, sirens will be turned on and exercises will be conducted so that people “without panic understand what to do,” Babel writes.

He also noted that during the checks, the Kiev administration had questions about some city bomb shelters.

Earlier, the deputy head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Anna Malyar, called the situation on the border difficult and accused Moscow of transferring the military in order to “maintain tension and pressure on neighboring countries.”

Recall that since November, the world and Ukrainian media have been reporting on the movement of Russian military equipment in the border regions. This prompted statements about the allegedly impending Russian invasion of Ukraine.
