The conflict with Russia may extend beyond the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine. This was stated by the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Sergei Naev, ABC News TV channel reports, Kommersant provides excerpts.

“We are preparing for this. We are building defensive structures, laying mines and preparing our forces,” Naev said.

According to him, this could happen if Russia continues to increase its weapons production and “technologically improve with the help of its allies.”

For now, the situation is similar to a “struggle of resources,” Naev added. He noted that cutting aid from partners would “hit the defense capability” of Ukraine, but the country will continue to fight using what it has.

Naev emphasized that now “technology is critical.” “A goal for which, according to old Soviet technologies, it was necessary to spend 100 shells, with the help of Western technologies much less is needed, and it is measured in numbers up to ten, so technology always outweighs quantity,” explained the head of the Joint Forces.

Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny admitted that the situation at the front had reached a dead end.
