State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin published a new tough post about Russians who left the country shortly after the start of the special operation and returned back to their homeland due to problems abroad.
According to the politician, these people committed treason, and now in Russia “no one is waiting for them with open arms.” In his Telegram channel, Volodin expressed the opinion that Russians should remain with their homeland “in a variety of situations.”
“Many young guys today defend the country by taking part in a special military operation. Others ensure victory in the rear by developing the economy,” said the speaker of the lower house of the Russian parliament.
Volodin noted that the relocants committed treason against “Russia, relatives and friends.” He also talked about Russians who received Israeli citizenship and are now “running back.” In this regard, the Chairman of the State Duma quoted Omar Khayyam, who advised to drive away friends who betrayed once, “who betrayed once will betray you twice.”
In early October, Volodin stated that relocants who made anti-Russian statements and financed the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be checked under the article on treason.
Earlier, the Kremlin said what would happen to Russians who left and cursed their homeland.
