A nutritionist named nutritional mistakes that can lead to cancer

Some dietary habits may increase the risk of cancer, nutritionist Alexey Kabanov told the Aif.ru portal.

According to the specialist, proper nutrition is the most important factor in helping to fight cancer, but the consequences of an unbalanced diet can be very diverse, including increasing the risk of developing a malignant tumor.

“We can’t say that eating certain foods is harmful; it’s more about eating style. There are two types of diet that increase the risk of developing cancer: the “Western diet” and the “diet of the poor,” Kabanov said.

The “Western diet” is characterized by a large amount of meat products, saturated with animal fats, as well as a lot of salt and sugar. Fiber enters the body in limited quantities. The “diet of the poor” is characterized by inexpensive, crudely processed products: fast food, sausages, processed foods, and low-quality dairy products. According to Kabanov, both of these food options are a direct path to health problems.

The doctor named any diet that leads to excess weight as another risk factor. In particular, consuming large amounts of sweets, carbonated drinks, and baked goods in combination with a sedentary lifestyle significantly increases the risks.
