Volodin: Decided to withdraw the bill on QR codes in transport from consideration

The State Duma will remove from consideration the bill on the introduction of QR codes in transport, said the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin in his Telegram channel.

According to Volodin, the issue of removing the bill from the agenda will be discussed on Monday at the State Duma Council. He said that this decision was influenced by “the dialogue of the State Duma with the government based on the consideration of the views of the regions and citizens’ appeals.”

At the same time, RBC, citing sources in the Ministry of Transport and the State Duma, reports that work on the document will continue.

Let us remind you that last week the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin assured that the authorities will try to prevent any “rash decisions” with the introduction of the QR code system at the federal level. According to him, even before the introduction of QR codes in transport, it will be necessary to check the full readiness of the “entire system” for this. Putin stressed that the law on QR codes already submitted to the State Duma is of a framework nature, it will still be finalized, including with the participation of the regions.
