Zelensky’s adviser doubted the existence of Ukraine without Crimea

The Office of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky fears “an unjust end to the armed conflict with the Russian Federation.” Presidential Advisor Mikhail Podolyak stated this in an interview with a Ukrainian TV channel.

According to him, a fair end to the conflict involves Ukrainian control over Crimea and other regions lost to Kiev. Otherwise, there will be an “unfair ending for everyone,” especially for Ukraine.

Podolyak added that the existence of Ukraine may be in question given the loss of a number of regions. “Is there at least one final where we left a share of territories for Russia? Do we then have at least one chance to survive in historical context for 10–15 years?” — Podolyak wondered, as quoted by RBC.

He also commented on his own statements about plans to “enter Crimea” in the summer of 2023. According to Podolyak, these forecasts were made based on an analysis of the number of weapons on both sides, the volume of sanctions and the resources of the Russian Federation.

Let us remind you that Crimea, Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions joined the Russian Federation based on the results of referendums. Ukraine and other countries of the world did not recognize the territorial changes. The Kremlin stated that the issue of the territorial affiliation of these regions is closed.
