“Putin would not dare to start a conflict”: Kiev called NATO’s strategic mistake

NATO did not accept Ukraine into the alliance until 2014 and thus made a strategic mistake. This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba, reports “Gordon”.

“If Ukraine received NATO membership before 2014, there would be no Russian aggression. It was a strategic mistake of the Alliance to postpone Ukraine’s acquisition of membership, ”Kuleba said.

According to him, this would be the best way to guarantee not only the security of Ukraine, but also the security of the Euro-Atlantic space. In this case, Russian leader Vladimir Putin would never risk entering into direct conflict with the military forces of the alliance, Kuleba added.

We will remind that at present relations between Russia and Ukraine are going through another round of aggravation, starting in November, when the world and Ukrainian media reported about the movement of Russian military equipment, allegedly taking place in the border regions. This prompted statements about the allegedly impending Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as demands for new sanctions.
