President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the people of Poland on their national independence holiday and extended a “friendly hand of cooperation.”
The Belarusian leader in his message recalled that the two countries “have a centuries-old common Christian and cultural heritage, as well as broad and friendly contacts.”
According to Lukashenko, the best guarantee of security for Poland at present is a friendly neighborhood and an end to the unjustified militarization of the country and the arms race. “Only together, step by step, can we contribute to overcoming confrontation in our region. The Belarusian side is ready for this,” BELTA quotes the President of Belarus.
Lukashenko also noted that Belarus respects the choice of the people of Poland, which “clearly demonstrated the desire to stop the senseless search for internal contradictions and external threats.” “I hope that Warsaw will listen to the voice of its citizens with a call to live in peace and harmony with representatives of all nations and religions, and will consider the friendly hand of cooperation extended by Belarus,” the Belarusian leader concluded.
Earlier, Lukashenko stated the relevance of the ideals of the Great October Revolution.
