Ukrainian Ambassador said that under the new Chancellor of Germany, Kiev will not wait for weapons

Under the new German Chancellor, Olaf Scholze, Ukraine will not wait for the provision of weapons. This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andriy Melnyk, reports ZN.ua.

“This reinforced concrete position, which does not stand up to criticism from a moral point of view, will be preserved,” Melnik said. He pointed out that “the provision of weapons to Kiev for self-defense would strengthen the position of official Berlin and to advance the mediation mission, which is now, unfortunately, at a dead end.” However, it is “too optimistic” to expect a different course from the new chancellor, the ambassador stressed.

According to him, “the moment of truth” has come for Kiev – it becomes clear who is the real friend of Ukraine.

At the same time, Melnik added that he would convince the German partners that additional electronic warfare or any other types of defensive weapons are needed not for provocations, but “to contain new aggression and to quickly end this bloody war.”
