If your health requires you to give up your coffee habit, many try to gradually reduce the number of cups you drink so that your body can naturally wean itself off caffeine. But practice shows: in most cases this method does not work.
According to nutritionist Tatyana Meshcheryakova, in order to get rid of the habit of fueling the body with energy drinks, you must first reconsider your daily routine, writes “Doctor Peter”.
The reason for the craving for coffee lies in the disruption of sleep and wakefulness and, as a result, in the inhibition of the recovery processes of many body systems. This is what makes us look for stimulants that artificially raise and maintain the desired level of activity, Meshcheryakova said.
According to the specialist, if you regularly go to bed late and get up early, and do not get enough sleep, this can lead to a failure in the production of a number of hormones that regulate and support the functioning of the entire body. As a result, without normalizing sleep patterns, even if a person can give up coffee or other energy drinks, it will only be for a short time, since caffeine gives an illusory feeling of vigor.
In addition to maintaining a normal sleep schedule, you can feel more alert in the morning with the help of a simple remedy, Meshcheryakova added. You need to drink a glass of hot water at a temperature of 50-60 degrees.
“Unlike coffee, a glass of water stimulates the activity of the lymphatic system, increases metabolic rate and gives us the energy we need in the morning,” the nutritionist concluded.
