WhatsApp social networking groups are an alternative for communication in various activities, including community activities. Some citadels and urbanizations have adopted it as a means of informing and seeking quick deals. Pets are a frequent topic.

Through this digital channel, they complain about the ‘bad behavior’ of dogs and cats, poisoning – such as those that happened in two conglomerates on the road to Daula – and threats of legal proceedings and even violence. It is serious that crimes arise because of problems that can be solved through dialogue, respect and good living.

Killing or poisoning an animal is a crime and is punishable by law, as is a greater express threat.

Maintaining good customs and respecting the rules of the community in which you live is also an obligation that implies the care of pets, which cannot go out without a companion in charge of their care and cleaning.

Coexistence is not easy in condominiums or urbanization, but if the rules accepted when deciding on community life were to be respected, harmony could be achieved. There is no need to start neighborhood wars, but adapt to the rules, respect each other’s spaces and ensure the cleanliness of the place where you live.

It is not permissible to poison pets or other species. For those who are just thinking about it, it should be clear that the Comprehensive Organic Penal Code (COIP) punishes anyone who kills an animal from the urban fauna with a prison term of six months to one year. Article 250.1 states: “If the death occurred as a result of cruelty, he shall be punished by imprisonment from one to three years.” The maximum penalty will be if cruelty, supply of toxic substances is proven, if the animal is a puppy, geront or pregnant female or if the offense was committed by the owner.

Respect makes a difference in a community. If this is violated, there are laws for civilization, not force. (OR)
