The doctor listed the main mistakes that people make when eating for the first time. Vascular surgeon and nutritionist Sergei Gureev expressed his opinion, writes Doctor Peter.

Firstly, you should not skip breakfast, because it gives you a boost of vivacity and energy for the coming day, and protection against many diseases, says the doctor. Secondly, the first meal should be filling, but at the same time easy to digest. The doctor considers the main mistake in preparation to be a lack of protein products and, conversely, an excess of carbohydrates and fats.

Gureev is categorically against eating sweet ready-made cereals, instant porridge and sweet pastries for breakfast, since these products contain a lot of sugar and grains or flour purified from dietary fiber. Also, in his opinion, it is worth giving up juices, which irritate the gastric mucosa and can sharply increase the level of glucose in the blood, fried foods, sausages, bacon, smoked meats, which can lead to large weight gain.

Gureev considers porridge from various whole grain cereals, dairy products, including cottage cheese, matsoni, yogurt, as well as low-fat cheeses and egg dishes to be a good choice for breakfast. You can also include a portion of fresh vegetables or fruits, nuts, seeds, and herbs.
