The problem of Russophobia was discussed at the festival “This is why I love Russia”

On the last day of October, the largest historical and educational festival “For This I Love Russia” was held in Moscow. It discussed many topical issues and touched upon sensitive topics in relations between Russia and the West in history and modern times.

As the organizers of the event told RosBalt, the festival, held in the historical museum of the Patriotic War of 1812, brought together a large number of university students and representatives of the younger generation, “who were impressed not only by the forum itself, but also by the fact that it took place in such a significant and historical place.”

The festival program began with a lecture by Natalia Tanshina, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of RANEPA under the President of the Russian Federation and Moscow State Pedagogical University, “Russia and the West: a thousand-year history of love and hate,” which also touched upon the problem of Russophobia. This is a topic that is regularly raised at the Russian Foreign Ministry and which the president speaks about in many speeches. The professor told the audience about the reasons why Russia today lives in a state of confrontation with the West, and also about whether this can be corrected. Tanshina answered the question whether it is worth focusing on Russophobia – and how it can be combated. After the end of the lecture, guests and participants of the festival continued for a long time to discuss the topics raised in it.

Many participants studied the exhibits presented by the museum with great interest, after which they went to watch stand-up programs prepared by two groups. The Youth Center at the museum presented a unique stand-up project of the State Historical Museum “History.Important”, which periodically takes place within the walls of the museum. And a team of stand-up comedians showed “Historical stand-up,” where they were reincarnated as emperors who influenced the development of our state.

At the end of the day, festival guests were presented with the works of participants in the All-Russian youth photo competition “For This I Love Russia,” which conveyed the spirit of patriotism and love for the Motherland.

The festival is organized by the Russian Military Historical Society with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education as part of the implementation of the federal project “Patriotic Education of Citizens of the Russian Federation” of the national project “Education”. The partners of the event are the State Historical Museum and the student coordination council of the All-Russian Trade Union of Education.

The online broadcast of the festival was watched by several thousand people.
