Kyiv is preparing for a “reset” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces strategy

Kyiv is preparing to change its strategy for conducting military operations against Russia. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated this in an interview with NBC News.

He admitted that the situation at the front remains difficult for Ukraine. However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are now considering various strategies to gain an advantage.

“Right now, our military is coming up with different plans with different operations to move forward faster and to strike unexpectedly,” Zelensky said, adding that Ukraine needs “proper” weapons to implement these plans.

Let us note that conversations about changing the strategy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the backdrop of an unsuccessful counteroffensive have been going on for several weeks. The day before, The Guardian newspaper reported that at a secret base on the border of Poland and Ukraine, NATO representatives and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny held a five-hour meeting, during which they discussed restarting the strategy of the Ukrainian armed forces. They tried to find a way to speed up the progress of Ukraine’s counteroffensive, plan military operations for the winter and discussed a long-term strategy for 2024, the media noted.

A little later, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, in an interview, announced a “deadlock” in the armed conflict with Russia. He noted that the fighting was moving into a new phase, turning into a “positional conflict” of attrition.
