Governments. As a strategy for effective implementation of campaign offers. As the most direct way to the manifestation of patriotism, which is the basic foundation that justifies seeking power in serious and thorough politicians. As the most intelligent way for them to know for themselves the intricate scenarios of each of the social areas to which the newly elected president and his team will devote their attention.

Because, if it were asserted that the new Government already knows the reality of the country, it would be unforgivable carelessness. Because neither conducted studies nor pre-election tours are enough, and even less the advice of advisers, which cannot in any way replace the experiences of those who rule, which result from a personal relationship with the people and with the country’s problems.

Universal literature is full of stories that tell about the actions of rulers who loved their people, and who, out of this motivation of honor and service, always and sometimes in an unknown way, socialized with their compatriots in order to find out firsthand what they felt and needed, how were and as they thought, to serve them better. Wise.

Philosophy and holy books also do this, from their approaches. In the Tao Te Ching, by Lao Tzu, the ruler’s relationship with his people and the wisdom of relating to their demands are considered. The Bible speaks of the goodness that those who rule must have, which is reflected in their constant calling to know the needs of the people. The Qur’an deals with the issue of just and balanced governments and the relationship they must maintain with the people.

The activities carried out by the new president, such as his decisions on who will be his next ministers of state or the relationships he sets as priorities, show a picture of what could be his way of carrying out the mandate given to him by the millions of Ecuadorians who believed in his program promotion of employment, economic growth, fight against crime, education and culture, health, social inclusion, poverty reduction and reform of judicial and police system.

The priority given to the economic aspect, even though it is crucial for dealing with our overall damaged social situation, is not enough. Actions aimed at improving tax collection by controlling the evasion of large debtors, controlling corruption, optimizing spending on bureaucracy, etc. are crucial, and the president and those who will be part of your government must treat them with professional relevance and commitment of citizens. It is also necessary to maintain constant, internal contact with the people and institutions that we want to change: the health system, prisons, with the poor and their environments in order to get to know and feel their shortcomings. If there is no intention to create that vital and honorable relationship, all actions will be almost mechanical due to the lack of an indispensable emotional and supportive bond that is built from proximity as a method of management.
