Russian President Vladimir Putin said that we need to be prepared for the fact that sanctions pressure from the West will increase.
The head of state, during a meeting on economic issues, warned that the West could continue to stage provocations against Russia. “Sabotage, simply natural sabotage, or acts of sabotage at the most important global infrastructure facilities could be used,” Putin believes.
In his opinion, “The West itself has already become entangled in these sanctions and has hit its own economy.” The President of the Russian Federation called the ideas to ban the supply of needles and screwdrivers to Russia absurd. “Now in their fantasies they simply reach the point of absurdity – they propose to ban the import of screwdrivers, needles, and so on into Russia,” Putin noted.
At the same time, the Russian leader urged not to be alarmed by possible restrictions on the import of goods into Russia and recalled the invasion of bedbugs in a number of European countries. “Well, the less junk, the better, maybe. There is less chance that bed bugs will be exported to us from large European cities,” Putin emphasized.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, ridiculed Lithuania’s proposal to ban the export of nails, needles and knitting needles to Russia.
