Deputy Head of Rosobrnadzor Svetlana Kochetova spoke about the progress of inspections of Russian universities, which conduct exams for migrants to obtain a residence permit and citizenship of the Russian Federation, as well as a work permit.
According to her, the list approved by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science currently includes 13 universities that have the right to conduct exams for foreign citizens in Russian as a foreign language, Russian history and the fundamentals of Russian legislation. Kochetova explained that Rosobrnadzor employees “participate as experts in the conduct of these inspections by the prosecutor’s offices of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.”
It is noted that violations were detected in all 13 universities. “Our experts send their conclusions to the prosecutor’s office, and no one will be left without attention,” the deputy head of Rosobrnadzor emphasized, TASS reports. “Currently, the Prosecutor General’s Office is carrying out control and supervisory measures in relation to universities,” she added.
The official indicated that the number of violations of mandatory requirements by universities has increased against the backdrop of a moratorium on scheduled inspections. It is clarified that warnings have been sent to most educational organizations.
The press service of Rosobrnadzor also reported that a total of 467 preventive measures were carried out, including 16 unscheduled inspections.
Earlier, Rosobrnadzor denied the statement of its own head about plans to change the model of transition to the 10th grade.
