I am pleased to see that certain “opinionists” and political scientists, “experts” on public issues (without ever holding any office) and defenders of political morality are silent. I see business leaders who, during these two years, have been nothing more than a shameful echo of official communication, albeit reluctantly, urging the political class to a grand national agreement.

When will Daniel Noboa take over as president? His transition team and Pierina Correa disagree on the date

Yes, the same ones who shouted to the heavens when a possible deal was announced between the “encuentro” groups of the government (CREO-PSC) with Koreanism, allegedly because impunity is being negotiated in exchange. The same ones who have been claiming for more than two years that there is an alleged “pact” between the PSC and Correismo, allegedly for the destabilization of democracy and some other atrocities that, obviously, did not exist. The same ones who defended tooth and nail all the actions of the current government; who condemned the possible political process and celebrated the death of the cross, as if it would remove the “tumor” that “threatened the death” of the country; and that they did not hesitate to accuse the Constitutional Court of criminality in the performance of its work, when it denied some decrees of law sent by the executive power.

(…) we are at a point where we either stand up or fall into a black hole of no return.

Today, when the country is falling apart, in the most severe insecurity that our history remembers, in a deep economic and institutional crisis and, as the icing on the cake, with electricity reductions that only deepen the country’s woes, it seems that, finally, all these angry cachiporreros, twitterers and subjective businessmen realized that this formula of hatred, revenge, lies, sectarianism, polarization and the only truth is not the way to move the Republic forward.

A political pact

Have they not realized that all this time they have been doing the same thing that we criticize so much about the government of the civil revolution?

Stigmatize opponents, impose your vision as the only truth and justify all mistakes of like-minded people. That what we are experiencing is not the sole responsibility of the current government? Of course not. We were already bad.

Daniel Noboa’s inauguration as president will be on December 1, according to his press team

But then why are we electing a new government? Shouldn’t we change what was wrongly done, take action on everything that wasn’t done and thereby improve the quality of life of Ecuadorians, especially the most dispossessed in the country?

Ecuador must move away from this culture of shouting, hatred, revenge, discredit, regret and lies, which has led us to what we are experiencing today.

Jorge Glas intends for the formulation of embezzlement charges not to progress until the new assembly approves or approves his prosecution

We hope that the new generations, who today with Daniel Nobo at the head are taking over the reins of the state little by little, have learned this painful lesson.

From this column, we hope that the political class, without differences, will form a great legislative alliance that restores the credibility and trust of the people to the first government of the state and thus supports the management of the newly elected president, since we are at the point where we either stand up or fall into a black hole of no return.
