Peskov: Russia will not reduce gas prices for Greece – Rosbalt

Russia does not intend to reduce the gas price for Greece, however, it is ready to supply fuel at the “forecasted” cost. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said this in an interview with ANT1 TV channel.

“This is a matter of bilateral agreements with Gazprom. You simply sign a contract with Gazprom, which is valid for a specific period, and if it is a long-term agreement, you will continue to receive natural gas at the predicted price. Not at a price that can range from $ 500 to $ 1,100 (per thousand cubic meters) overnight. So it will be fixed, “- RIA Novosti quotes Peskov.

At the same time, he stressed that Russia covers more than 40% of Greece’s needs for blue fuel and fully fulfills its obligations.

As a reminder, on November 25, Russia and Serbia, following negotiations in Sochi, agreed on a gas price for the next six months at $ 270 per thousand cubic meters. This was then announced by the President of Serbia, Aleksandr Vucic, after a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Serbia will receive gas for the next six months at $ 270 per thousand cubic meters (as at present, the contract expires by the end of the year – ed.)”, – stressed the Serbian leader, adding that his country will receive exceptional conditions for the price of gas from Russia.
