The most favorite films, songs and books from the legacy of the USSR are named

Most Russians have a favorite Soviet film, a favorite Soviet song and a favorite Soviet book, according to VTsIOM data collected as part of a joint project with RBC “30 Years Without the USSR”.

As it turned out, the most popular Soviet films among Russians are “Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears” (6% of the votes) and “Girls” (5%).

Of the Soviet books, Russians prefer How the Steel Was Tempered (5%) and Quiet Don (4%). And my favorite songs are the anthem of the USSR and Katyusha (4% each).

In total, in the course of an open survey (the respondent had to name the work himself, and not choose from the list), the participants listed several dozen films, musical and literary works from the times of the USSR. There are no absolute leaders in terms of preferences among them: the most popular works gained a maximum of 6% of adherents.

At the same time, among Soviet films, 25 paintings exceeded the 1% bar, among books – 19 works, among songs – 23 (taking into account such collective responses as songs by Alla Pugacheva, songs by Muslim Magomayev, songs by Viktor Tsoi, songs by Anna German).

At the same time, there were some curiosities: 1% of the respondents named their favorite Soviet book “War and Peace” by Leo Tolstoy, written more than half a century before the creation of the USSR, as well as “Three Musketeers” by Alexander Dumas, published even earlier.
