Russian television stars—fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev and singer Nadezhda Babkina—exchanged caustic comments about each other. The reason for the “disagreement” was the conduct of a special operation by the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine.
Babkina supported the SVO and criticized the stars who condemned the actions of the Russian authorities. “They are cowards. And then they are afraid to apologize,” the singer noted. However, her former colleague on the “Fashionable Sentence” program, 64-year-old Alexander Vasiliev, took a different position and, according to media reports, prefers to spend time outside the Russian Federation, only occasionally visiting Moscow. Babkina did not miss the opportunity to offend Vasiliev. In one interview, she noted that Vasiliev does not talk to her about political topics. “Because he knows it’s none of his business. Moreover, this is none of my business, but I have a position,” the singer noted. According to her, she also suggested that Vasiliev speak more carefully and keep his mouth shut.
Vasiliev did not remain in debt. “She’s absolutely right. Fashion historians cannot understand politics. Only singers can understand it. Just quote: fashion historians don’t understand anything about this, but singers understand everything,” Vasilyev commented on Babkina’s statement.
Let us remember that they both previously hosted the “Copper Sentence” program. Last winter, she stopped airing on Channel One.
