In Russia, an order is being prepared obliging passengers on the lower shelves on trains to give up their seat at the table

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft order, according to which the passengers of trains with tickets to the lower shelves will be obliged to give way to their neighbors at the top of the table. The document is posted on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.

The certificate to the order says that if the document is accepted, the passengers on the upper shelves will have the opportunity to eat normally at the table – in the morning and in the evening for half an hour, in the afternoon – a whole hour. The order is intended to eliminate the frequent conflicts between passengers “from below” and “from above”, according to the Ministry of Transport. Who and how will control the behavior of passengers on the lower bins is not entirely clear, as well as what sanctions will be applied to uncompromising travelers.

Another initiative of the Ministry of Transport is to provide citizens with the opportunity to buy tickets for long-distance trains by gender, compartments will be divided into “women” and “men”.

It is also proposed to allow the purchase of train tickets not only with a passport or military ID, but also with a certificate of loss of a passport, a certificate of release from prison, a residence permit for a foreigner or stateless person.

We will remind, on the eve of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin assured that the authorities will try to prevent any “rash decisions” with the introduction of the system of QR codes at the federal level. According to him, even before the introduction of QR codes in transport, it will be necessary to check the full readiness of the “entire system” for this. Putin stressed that the law on QR codes already submitted to the State Duma is of a framework nature, it will still be finalized, including with the participation of the regions.

The controversial bill on QR codes in transport was submitted to the State Duma on November 12. According to the document, the sale of a ticket and boarding an airplane or long-distance train can only be carried out upon presentation by a citizen of one of three documents: confirmation of vaccination against covid, a certificate of the presence of a medical outlet, or a certificate of a past illness. Later, consideration of the bill was postponed. And the post of the speaker of the State Duma on this bill was scored more than 200 thousand comments, most often, users scolded the authorities for poorly informing the population about vaccinations, about the situation with covid in general, and about the state of health.
