The Lefortovo court in Moscow sentenced Sergei Takoyev, the former chairman of the government of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, to eight years in a general regime colony in a criminal case of particularly large-scale embezzlement, Interfax reports with reference to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

Takoyev was also given a fine of 800 thousand rubles, the department’s press service said.

A similar punishment was imposed on the former Minister of Tourism of North Ossetia, Alan Diambekov.

The court sentenced the former Minister of State Property and Land Relations of the Republic Kazbek Fidarov and employee of the Ministry of Property Zaurbek Tsogoev to six years and six months in a general regime colony with a fine of 500 thousand rubles. each, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ossetian Automobile and Tractor Electrical Equipment Plant (OZATE) Oleg Gabuev – six and a half years in prison with a fine of 400 thousand rubles.

The court sentenced two more defendants – ex-minister of economic development of North Ossetia Madina Ikaeva and former general director of OZATE Aida Gabaraeva – to six years in prison each with fines of 500 and 400 thousand rubles. respectively.

A civil claim by the injured party – the Ministry of Property and Land Relations of North Ossetia – in the amount of 180 million rubles. the court satisfied in full.

All defendants were found guilty of particularly large embezzlement (Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
