Israel promised to bomb Gaza more actively before the new stage of the operation

Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip

The Israeli military is preparing to intensify the bombing of the Gaza Strip in preparation for a new stage of the operation against the Palestinian Hamas movement. This was stated by IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari, quoted by The Times of Israel.

“We must enter the next stage of the war on more favorable terms for us,” Hagari said, promising that the IDF “will increase strikes from today.” Hagari also admitted that since the beginning of the Hamas attack on Israel, 550 rockets have been unsuccessfully launched from Gaza, which fell on the territory of the enclave, killing Gazan civilians, according to Interfax.

It is planned that the Israeli military “will enter the Gaza Strip with an operational, professional mission: to destroy Hamas militants and infrastructure,” IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi noted in turn, Haaretz writes.

Over the past 24 hours, the Nuseirat market has come under fire in the Gaza Strip. WAFA reports that the market housed a restaurant for Palestinian refugees. According to media reports, 29 people were killed in the sector and dozens were injured. Reuters reported that Israel also struck a refugee camp near a mosque in Jenin in the West Bank. According to the IDF, an underground tunnel located under the mosque was attacked – the Israeli military claims that there was a “terrorist cell” there that was planning to organize a terrorist attack. As a result, according to media reports, two Palestinians were killed and several more were injured. A blow was also struck at Khan Yunis in the south of the enclave.

Let us remind you that Israel and Hamas have been at war since October 7. On this day, the Palestinian movement attacked Israeli territory with rockets and captured several settlements. Israel responded by launching a special operation and blockading the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military reported that it was planning a military campaign against Hamas in three stages – the first would involve airstrikes and ground operations, the second would involve the Israeli military “eliminating pockets of resistance,” and the third would involve the creation of a new security regime in the Gaza Strip.

Thousands of civilians on both sides became victims of the conflict.
