The “One Belt, One Road” forum has started in China with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The day before, he already had meetings with the leaders of Hungary, Vietnam, Mongolia, Thailand, Laos, and Pakistan. Today, October 18, Putin will also hold bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Both spoke at the opening of the forum. Chinese leader Xi Jinping said in his speech that he is against the sanctions policy. According to him, Beijing is categorically against the introduction of unilateral sanctions and the use of coercive policies. China does not pursue isolated modernization for itself alone; it is ready to make efforts to implement the modernization of all countries of the world without exception, Xi Jinping added.
At the same time, Putin noted in his speech that the Russian Federation and China strive for equal cooperation in the world and respect “the rights of each state to its own development model.” He wished China further success in implementing all development plans, emphasizing that with the volumes that were initiated by Beijing ten years ago, “it is difficult to expect that everything will work out” – but the country is succeeding.
Let us remind you that Putin is in Beijing on a two-day visit.
