Hezbollah declares ‘day of rage’ over Gaza hospital destruction

The Lebanese group Hezbollah has vowed to stage an “unprecedented day of rage” today, October 18. This was reported by The Times of Israel, citing excerpts from Hezbollah’s statement.

“Wednesday will be a day of unprecedented anger against the enemy and his crimes, as well as against the visit (US President Joe – ed.) Biden to Israel,” the statement noted, RIA Novosti reports. The group blames the IDF (Israeli Army) for the attack on Al-Ahly hospital in Gaza, which killed more than 800 people. The group called on the population of Arab and Muslim countries to put pressure on governments through protests.

After the incident, Israel and Hamas exchanged accusations. Palestinian authorities insist that the attack was carried out by the Israeli military, but Tel Aviv denies these accusations. “The hospital in the Gaza Strip was attacked by barbaric terrorists in the Gaza Strip, not the IDF, the one who brutally killed our children is also killing their own children,” said Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

At the same time, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh noted that “the United States is responsible for Israel’s deadly attack on Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza.” It is noted that those killed in the attack were civilians.

Hamas said it was ready to release all civilian prisoners immediately if there was a ceasefire.

In connection with the attack on the hospital, protests broke out in a number of countries – in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and other Arab and Muslim countries.

Politicians made statements. Thus, US President Joe Biden announced the need to investigate the circumstances of the strike, noting that Washington has already begun collecting information about what happened. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley noted that London will also conduct an investigation into the incident together with its allies. The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the attack on a hospital in Gaza City was an unjustifiable war crime. She also publicly called for a thorough investigation into all the circumstances of the incident.
