In St. Petersburg, a woman was fined for transporting 17 kg of black caviar from the Far East

In St. Petersburg, a woman was released without a criminal record, who tried to smuggle illegal black caviar from the Far East to the northern capital. However, the woman did not remain completely unpunished.

According to the united press service of the city’s courts, Elena Chernyakova bought 17.250 kg of black sturgeon caviar at the market in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, put it in 35 containers, put it in luggage and flew to the city on the Neva. Expenses amounted to 175 thousand rubles.

According to the investigation, due to the transportation, the woman planned to improve her financial situation. The plan failed. At the airport, the caviar was found and seized.

“The area of the Amur sturgeon is the Amur River. Since the commercial fishing of sturgeon in the Far East is completely prohibited, the products were obtained illegally and have all the signs of poaching origin, ”- follows from the materials of the case.

The criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which protects the Red Book animals, has not been completed. Instead of a verdict, the judge imposed a court fine of 30 thousand rubles. Were taken into account such circumstances as the admission of guilt of the accused, repentance and donation to charitable organizations.

We add that the court decided to destroy the caviar of the Amur sturgeon.

An illegal consignment of 100 tons of peanuts was found yesterday in the seaport of St. Petersburg. The shipment from Brazil arrived without laboratory tests and declarations of conformity.
