The Basmanny District Court of Moscow decided to liquidate the League of Voters Foundation (was entered in the register of non-profit organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent – approx. ed.) in a lawsuit filed by the capital department of the Ministry of Justice. This is evidenced by the data in the file of the court.
According to the court’s information, the corresponding decision was made on December 8.
According to Novaya Gazeta, it was adopted in the absence of representatives of the League of Voters.
While the court decision on the liquidation of the fund has not yet entered into legal force, its representatives intend to appeal the court verdict in the Moscow City Court, specifies TASS.
Let us remind you that the “League of Voters” foundation for promoting legal education of the population was included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the register of non-profit organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent on October 28.
“The fact of the organization’s compliance with the characteristics of a non-profit organization performing the functions of a foreign agent was established during an unscheduled documentary audit carried out by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Justice of Russia in Moscow,” the ministry said in a statement.
