IDF gave 24 hours to evacuate more than a million Gazans

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has issued an official appeal to civilians in Gaza City.

People were urged to urgently evacuate to the southern regions for their own safety. Civilians were also asked not to approach the border with Israel.

“The IDF calls on all residents of Gaza City to leave their homes, move south for their protection and settle in the area south of the Gaza River as described on the map,” the Israeli army said in a statement.

The IDF noted that Gazans will be able to return to their homes “only after notification.” The statement emphasizes that “Gaza City is an area where military operations are ongoing, evacuation is necessary for personal safety.”

In turn, the official representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric told The New York Times that 24 hours were given to evacuate civilians. We are talking about the resettlement of 1.1 million Palestinians. “The same order applied to all UN staff and those located in UN agencies, including schools, health centers and clinics,” Dujarric said.

It is known that the UN insists on canceling the order to avoid a “catastrophic situation.”

Let us recall that the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict began after the shelling of Israeli territory by rockets early in the morning of October 7. After this, Hamas militants entered the southern regions of the country.
