On December 13, the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg will host a concert of the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov. The musical evening, timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the collective, will begin at 19.00.
The guests of the concert will hear original wind compositions: Overture for Brass Band by F. Mendelssohn, Variations for Oboe and Wind Orchestra by N. Rimsky-Korsakov, Concerto for Tenor Saxophone and Wind Orchestra by B. Diev and transcriptions of symphonic works of Italian capriccio “P. Tchaikovsky and others.
At the conductor’s stand is the orchestra’s chief conductor, Captain 2nd Rank Valentin Lyashchenko. Soloists are laureates of all-Russian and international competitions Ivan Dyma (tenor saxophone) and Vladimir Vyatkin (oboe).

Central Concert Model Orchestra of the Navy named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov is a regular participant in the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow and the Main Naval Parade in the Northern Capital. The orchestra was created during the Great Patriotic War, and in 1994 it was named after the composer-sailor N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov.
