The number of victims of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is growing

Israel continues to bomb Gaza. According to the country’s Defense Army (IDF), the military launched a “large-scale attack on many Hamas centers” in Gaza. Thus, the Israeli Air Force carried out a series of attacks on populated areas of the enclave last night, writes Al Mayadeen. According to media reports, there were 450 ground targets in Gaza, Jabaliya and Khan Yunis.

Meanwhile, Israeli authorities have banned the treatment of wounded Hamas members. This order was made by the head of the Israeli Ministry of Health, Moshe Arbel, writes The Jerusalem Post. “The minister ordered a ban on the treatment of wounded Hamas members in state hospitals,” the publication reports.

According to Ynet, the head of the Ministry of Health has already notified Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of his decision. According to the minister, consideration of the issue of providing assistance to Hamas militants should be entrusted to the Israeli army or intelligence services. The media notes that all wounded militants were transported to Prison Service hospitals; these hospitals are guarded by the military.

Data on new victims on both sides of the conflict is constantly updated. Thus, since the beginning of the escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, 1.2 thousand people have already been killed and approximately 5.6 thousand people have been injured. Such data is distributed by the AFP agency, citing a representative of the local Ministry of Health. It is clarified that over the past night, 51 Palestinians were killed and another 281 people were injured as a result of Israeli airstrikes.

At the same time, 1.3 thousand people died in Israel and more than 3.7 thousand were injured.

According to the UN, the number of residents of the Gaza Strip who fled their homes increased to 338 thousand people, an increase of 75 thousand per day.

In addition, 11 UN agency employees were killed in the Gaza Strip, said UNRWA Deputy Director for Gaza Affairs Jennifer Austin, reports Reuters. According to her, the victims included five UNRWA school teachers, one gynecologist, one engineer, one psychologist and three support staff. Some employees were killed in their homes with their families, Austin added.

According to Axios, there are “more than 500 Americans and hundreds of foreign nationals” in the Gaza Strip, including UN staff, members of non-governmental organizations and journalists. However, it has not yet been possible to agree on the conclusion of these individuals. It is noted that negotiations are underway with Egypt, but there is no agreement yet. The UN said it is working with Cairo to create corridors for the delivery of humanitarian aid from Egypt to Gaza. In addition, the United States is actively discussing with Egypt and Israel the possibility of creating a corridor for refugees to leave Gaza, writes The Jerusalem Post. However, Cairo refuses to open corridors for the passage of refugees and displaced persons from Gaza, the publication adds.
