Zelensky arrived on an unannounced visit to Brussels and received a new batch of promises

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky arrived in Brussels on an unannounced visit.

Brussels is hosting a meeting of Ukraine’s allies in the Ramstein format, as well as a meeting of NATO defense ministers and a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, broadcast on the Ukrainian leader’s social networks.

During a meeting of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg promised support for Kyiv. He stated that “the alliance must ensure a constant and uninterrupted flow of weapons into Ukraine and its admission into the alliance.”

“Your fight is our fight. <…> We will support Ukraine as long as necessary,” Stoltenberg noted and stressed that NATO needs to mobilize more military assistance for Ukraine, in particular air defense, artillery and ammunition. He also added that NATO allies have increased and continue to increase military production to provide Ukraine with the capabilities to fight.

The Secretary General also again made accusations against Russia. He noted that the Russian authorities allegedly plan to “use the winter period in Ukraine as a weapon.” In turn, Zelensky admitted that surviving this winter now is one of the most difficult tasks for Ukrainians.

Stoltenberg also welcomed recent promises from Germany and Belgium to help Kyiv.

Thus, the German authorities announced that they were preparing a “winter package” of military assistance worth about 1 billion euros, and Belgium promised to start sending F-16 fighters to Ukraine from 2025. In addition, Britain previously stated that they were preparing to accept a package worth more than £100 million.

Earlier, Zelensky warned about the consequences of cutting off aid to Kyiv.
