Almost a third of Russians will react positively if robots and digital algorithms appear in the country’s justice system. These are the results of a survey conducted by Otkritie Bank experts.
As it turned out in the course of the study, approximately 18% of respondents believe that replacing living judges with digital algorithms and robots will make sentences more honest. At the same time, 15% will agree to robotic judges, but only if they deal exclusively with civil matters, PRIME reports.
Meanwhile, for 42% of respondents, replacing judges with robots is categorically unacceptable, since this can lead to illegal sentences.
Moreover, every fourth (25%) has a neutral attitude to this option of the future.
Let us also recall that back in January 2020, almost a third of Russians (30%) expressed fears that in the future a number of tasks in their profession will be solved not by humans, but by artificial intelligence (AI).
However, the overwhelming majority of the country’s population (68%) are not afraid of replacing humans with AI technologies in their profession, experts from the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) found out.
As sociologists found out, the majority of citizens of the Russian Federation (75%) have heard about artificial intelligence technology, but only a third understand its essence: 29% of respondents were able to define AI, and 38% named the scope of its application.
