Ukrainian side: The ship “Donbass” was not included in the “sensitive zones”

The ship Donbass, which belongs to the Ukrainian Navy, was not included in the “sensitive zones” and performed tasks exclusively in its own territorial waters, according to a statement by the headquarters of the Joint Forces Operation in Donbass on Facebook.

The message also confirms the information that the ship is currently returning to base.

In turn, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Alexei Reznikov said that the Ukrainian ship is in the Sea of Azov legally, since this is a shared water area. “It is very strange that the Russian special services saw a threat from a search and rescue vessel – a vessel without weapons,” the minister added.

We will remind, earlier that the ship “Donbass” of the Ukrainian Navy, which was moving towards the Kerch Strait in the Sea of Azov, went on the opposite course, the FSB of the Russian Federation reported.

According to the FSB, on December 9 at 9:12 am “Donbass” withdrew from the roadstead of the port of Mariupol and moved in the direction of the Kerch Strait. The Ukrainian ship reported that they did not plan to pass through the strait.
