The European Parliament supported the allocation of 50 billion euros to support Kyiv until 2027

Members of the European Parliament supported the European Commission’s project to create a mechanism for providing financing to provide assistance to Ukraine until 2027 in the amount of 50 billion euros, the EP press service reports.

According to the report, deputies called for approval of both the mechanism and the new budget as soon as possible, since “from 2024 there will be no provisions for assistance to Ukraine.” Parliamentarians also put forward as one of the key demands the use of assets from Russia or other legal entities or individuals directly related to the Ukrainian conflict to restore Ukraine. In addition, they proposed strengthening provisions to combat fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest and irregularities in the use of EU funds in Ukraine.

Separately, parliamentarians advocated the creation of a special Internet portal where data on financial transactions in favor of Kyiv would be published. In addition, politicians advocated the publication of the funds that Ukraine receives from third countries and international organizations. It is proposed to develop a reform plan for the republic with the participation of the European Parliament.

A draft report on this topic will be put to a vote during the plenary session in Strasbourg from 16 to 19 October. “Negotiations with member countries can begin as soon as the EU Council develops a common position,” the press service said in a statement.
