Proper retirement is the key to timely receipt of payments, reports the Prime agency, citing Vadim Vinogradov, dean of the Faculty of Law at the Higher School of Economics.
According to the expert, the law makes it the responsibility of the citizen himself to formalize the status of a pensioner, which will entail the start of pension payments; neither the Social Fund nor the employer will do this. Therefore, you should submit a corresponding application to the Social Fund office in advance – but not earlier than a month before retirement age. The pension is not assigned automatically, and a delay in visiting the Social Fund will result in a loss of money that will not be compensated. “The pension is calculated based on the date of application, and not the onset of retirement age. Therefore, there is no point in delaying its registration,” advises Vinogradov.
According to him, a citizen is given the opportunity to submit documents in different ways: to the MFC, by contacting the SFR branch or through a form on its website, by mail or through an employer. After reviewing the documents, which must be carried out within 10 days, pension payments are assigned.
Let us recall that the head of the Ministry of Finance, Anton Siluanov, said at a hearing in the Federation Council that in 2024, Russians will expect another indexation of pensions – they will increase by 7.5%, reaching an average value of 23,244 rubles.
