A few days before the election of the president and vice president, the form of selection that took place in the first round, by the voters, will not necessarily be the same.
Since the votes cannot be verified, it is not easy to add and subtract votes, assuming that those who supported one candidate or the other will now gravitate toward one of the two vying for Carondelet.
Depending on the electorate, whose age and training must also be taken into account, the decisions made in this regard should not revolve around the promises they make to us, but we should pay close attention to how those offers will deliver on reality. .
Given the difficult situation we are in, where insecurity, unemployment, drug trafficking, corruption and ordinary crime – to name only the most important factors – are very difficult issues to solve and cannot be solved overnight. , we must demand the feasibility of the plans presented by the candidates to combat them.
The crisis is so acute that we have no time to waste. We are afraid to think how people’s basic needs will be met considering that we have two additional problems: the El Niño phenomenon, which will increase the number of people who have no way to feed themselves, not only in Ecuador, but also in the world, and the financial gap that will cause paralysis of the exploitation of ITT, considering the results of the public consultation.
The crisis is so acute that we have no time to waste. We are afraid to think how basic needs will be met…
What whoever wins the presidency needs to do is to lay the groundwork, through very well planned planning, with the support of experts on various subjects, to set the country on its way to economic growth which it has not had in the last one year and the big enemies mentioned above are starting gradually eliminate. If there is no planning backed by reality, we will not be able to move forward despite the good intentions we have. Managing a country is not easy at all. Therefore, it should not be for improvised people. Even worse with a nation like ours that is simply ungovernable, and even worse with a National Assembly that will be like Bregué’s quilt.
When there was a serious political crisis in Ecuador in 1966, there was a man, Clemente Yerovi Indaburu, who in six months gave us peace and put things in order. When he was asked to stay in power, he was so honest that he said that his mandate would only last one semester. As a result of that short government, two extremely important laws were passed, the notarial law and the registration law.
This is also why the will of the National Assembly is needed to cooperate not with the first president, but with the people who elected them and pass the necessary laws or reform the existing ones, such as the Labor Law, if we want to increase employment.
And, most importantly, to call a national consultation and adopt a new Constitution in order to correct the imperfections of the existing one.
Let us not be convinced by promises alone. Let’s see how. (OR)
