The doctor warned men with bald heads about vascular accidents

Men with bald heads are more likely to have a heart attack or stroke because hair loss is sometimes caused by atherosclerosis. This was stated by cardiologist Alexander Myasnikov, writes MedicForum.

He explained that atherosclerosis is a harbinger of the most dangerous vascular pathologies. This is a condition characterized by deterioration of the quality of vascular tissue, an increase in cholesterol and the appearance of cholesterol plaques that impair the passage of blood through the vessels.

“Bald men are more likely to get heart attacks and strokes,” Myasnikov said, adding that people with irregular sleep and lack of the habit of going to bed and waking up at the same time also have a higher tendency to develop atherosclerosis. People who practice an irregular regimen have almost twice as many cholesterol plaques in their blood vessels, the doctor added.

He also clarified that problems with the thyroid gland can affect blood vessels. According to him, gland hormones are involved in the production of cholesterol – if the gland is weakened, there is hypothyroidism and its hormones become insufficient, the body begins to more actively deposit cholesterol as compensation.

Its accumulation and development of atherosclerosis is also facilitated by frequent stress or existing foci of inflammation, for example, in the form of problematic untreated teeth, the doctor emphasized.
