Actor Mikhail Efremov is serving a sentence for fatal drunk driving in prison. He is periodically visited by friends, including his colleague and friend Ivan Okhlobystin, who spoke about the actor’s condition, writes Spbdnevnik.ru.
According to Okhlobystin, he hopes that Efremov will be released soon. The actor himself is counting on this.
“We really hope that he will be released on parole next summer. Of course, the crime committed required a certain punishment. But Mikhail already had health problems before that,” Okhlobystin noted.
According to him, Efremov is now actively writing scripts and dubbing films, including “The Gospel of Fyodor,” which received an award at the “Crime and Punishment” competition-action dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of F.M. Dostoevsky. Filming took place in IK-4 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Belgorod region.
“I was very afraid that Misha wouldn’t make it. But he survived,” Okhlobystin admitted.
He added that Efremov sometimes takes part in public life in the colony. So, he staged an excerpt from Dostoevsky in prison. “Of course, they didn’t go anywhere, it was all done internally, on phones, using available means, but nevertheless it turned out well,” Okhlobystin noted.
Previously, he said that Efremov’s teeth fell out in the colony. “The water there is chalky, and now Misha’s lower teeth have fallen out, and it’s impossible to fix them on the spot, because implants are needed. Well, this is such an “economic part,” noted Okhlobystin.
Let us remind you that Efremov received 7.5 years in prison. On June 8, the actor, who was driving while drunk, drove into the oncoming lane in the center of the capital. An accident occurred, as a result of which 57-year-old forwarding driver Sergei Zakharov died.
