The United States imposed sanctions on the former head of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine

The United States imposed sanctions on the former head of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine (CCU) Alexander Tupitsky and his wife Olga Tupitskaya. According to “Gordon.ua”, the restrictions are applied “for significant corruption actions, in particular, for accepting a bribe while serving in the Ukrainian judicial system.” Olga Tupitskaya, the wife of the ex-judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, also came under US sanctions.

Tupitsky appears in the case of bribery of a witness and misleading the court by knowingly false testimony of a witness.

The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has sent an indictment against Tupitsky to the Podolsk District Court of Kiev. According to the investigators, in October 2018, in the interests of the ex-head of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine Viktor Tatkov, Tupitsky bribed a witness to refuse to testify or provide deliberately false testimony in criminal proceedings related to the illegal seizure of property assets of the Zuevsky Power Engineering Plant.

In addition, during 2018-2019, according to the investigation, Tupitsky repeatedly provided the investigator of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine in the same proceedings with deliberately false testimony along with the artificial creation of evidence (part 2 of article 384 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
